Calculates the current structure.
All settings for the calculation are made in the dialogue. Safety factors do not need to be defined; the programme does this automatically. Currently, design according to Eurocode is supported and performed automatically.
The list shows all objects that StageDocs has recognised. In the Status column, you can select whether the respective objects should be taken into account. By default, all known objects are taken into account.
If there are unknown objects in the drawing, these are also displayed. The presence of unknown objects is not necessarily an error. These are usually drawing objects that are insignificant for the calculation. However, you should also check whether there are objects that should be included in the calculation. If this is the case, please contact us.
As soon as Solve is clicked, StageDocs attempts to create a framework from the currently visible structure and calculate it. If successful, an analysis is created and the support forces are displayed as the first result

Truss items are intelligent objects in Spotlight that users like to use to create structures. Advanced users use their own truss symbols here and may have stored structural members in the symbols and want to use the stored structure instead of the replacement member. If this option is activated, the replacement bar of the truss symbol is not created, but the symbol of the truss piece is treated like any other symbol.
With drawings, it can quickly happen that loads are positioned inaccurately and do not lie exactly on beams or trusses. With this option, loads are moved to the next beam within a tolerance. The shortest distance to the beam is selected.
If loads do not lie exactly on a beams or trusses and are connected to it, torsional moments naturally arise which the beam or truss must transfer. It is therefore sensible to take these moments into account. However, consistent consideration can be a drawback in some cases. These options are used to switch these moments on or off.

Rigs that are moved with electric hoists should be dimensioned with a suitable lifting factor. This is at least 1.2, but can also be significantly higher. Suitable values can be obtained from the manufacturer of the chain hoists.
